The Pittsburgh Technology Council's annual Design, Art and Technology (DATA) Awards and interactive exhibition is one of the coolest parties in Western PA. This year's event, set for June 7 (register here)at the Grande Hall at the Priory, will recognize 40 of the year's most innovative and creative tech projects, including an all-new People's Choice Award Tour and Tweet, an interactive exhibition juried by you live via Twitter.

 

Keystone Edge has profiled several nominees, including Bossa Nova Robotics, Pulse Motors, and Lightwave International.

 

Jennifer Baron, who serves as Pop Filter Editor for sister publication Pop City, is nominated in the Media Arts: Intersection of Art and Technology category for Nature-Nurture, presented below as part of the electronic music project she formed with Keith Tassick, The Garment Project. Baron's cousin, Lucy Blehar of Mt. Lebanon, provides vocals. The song was recorded by Pittsburgh native Kevin C. Smith in his Friendship studio.
