IntegraMed America Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Vein Clinics of America, opened a clinic Monday in Monroeville at 400 Penn Center Blvd., its first in Pennsylvania and the 31st nationwide. The clinic will use state-of-the-art laser technology to treat patients with varicose veins.
VCA hired five people to staff the new clinic, including one MD, a company spokesman said. IntegraMed plans to open one more clinic before the end of the year and four to five more in 2009.
“Pennsylvania is one of the states that IntegraMed is targeting with vein care clinics,” said Norberto Aja, a spokesman for the firm. “It will be realistic to see two or three clinics open there, like they have in Virginia and Maryland.”
The clinic, a 2,000-square-foot facility, offers the latest technology in varicose vein diagnosis and laser treatment, which is far less invasive than surgery.
“Minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of vein disease offer not just an improved quality of life both physically and health-wise, but also afford a greater sense of confidence and well-being to our patients,” said Dr. Anthony D’Alessio in a statement. He is the practicing physician at the Monroeville office.
