Brookwood Media Arts, LaSalle University to educate businesses on integrating green initiatives

on

With most businesses paying closer attention to their travel budgets, among other line items throughout the office, one-time skeptics are starting to come around to what Brookwood Media Arts has been developing for more than a decade. The Lower Gwynedd, Montgomery County-based provider of cutting-edge eLearning and training solutions has partnered with LaSalle University to help drive home the value of green training initiatives to businesses, who are starting to believe.

”There’s a huge push to save expenses,” says Jacquie Beck, Brookwoods SVP for eLearning.

A company conducting traditional training seminars spends 40 percent of every dollar on travel costs alone. Also, it’s estimated those participants will forget 75 percent of what they’ve learned. Take Pfizer, which saw its training budgets cut and has embraced eLearning through Brookwood. Brookwood also has worked with the U.S. Department of Defense and FEMA, which just did a two-day online training class with 70 employees that saved the department $100,000.

Brookwood devotes much of its resources to instructional design, and LaSalle has a well-established Master’s program in instructional design that uses a lot of Brookwood’s published work. It made sense for them to partner on their Growing Green Seminar Series to help businesses discover how to streamline their paper-based processes and turn large training manuals into engaging, interactive eLearning. They conducted six seminars last quarter and have another planned for March 26 at the LaSalle University Metroplex in Newtown.

”We try to show them at a high level they can be up and running with our products and technology quickly and effecting their bottom line immediately,” Beck says.
