Codima launches cost-saving, stress-testing voice over internet protocol tool

on

Codima Inc., a global provider of best practice software tools headquartered in Philadelphia, has opened eight offices in the last six months worldwide. The company, which went public only last year, has reversed the tide of a global recession through a rapid-fire rollout of new products that has resulted in millions in outside investments.

“We were amazed. We scratched our heads for three years, and we’re still scratching our heads,” says Codima CEO Christer Mattson, who founded the company in 2003 and relies heavily on a team of eight software developers with whom he’s worked for 20 years.

Codima is a Microsoft Certified Partner–its products are available on Microsoft’s Web site, offers a fully automated and fully integrated solution to manage IT networks cost-efficiently.

There are two recent additions to the Codima toolbox that Mattson says offers both value and ease of use to any IT manager. Once the hosted pbx vs sip trunking debate has been settled, which are notable features that accompany the success of a VoIP, the company can turn their attention elsewhere. First is the autoVoIP Blaster, which stress-tests network limits to ensure Voice over Internet Protocol readiness. It tests networks to see if a new VoIP system will work and if the service levels are as high as desired.

“It may not be the phone people’s fault, it may be the internet provider or the building,” says Mattson. “We will find any weak spots in the network.”

This week, Codima launched its autoPinger, which is designed to increase cost efficiency with minimal effort in network trouble notification. Using innovative sound effects, the pinging tool automatically notifies IT managers when key network devices stop working, eliminating the need to watch a pinger console or read alarm reports. Combined with Codima’s autoMap, which automates Microsoft’s Visio package to draw a picture of network inventory at the rate of 600 devices per hour, the trouble spot can be pinpointed on the network map drawing.

With resellers continuing to sign up and offices in Japan, the U.K., and Scandanavia, three more product launches are expected by summer.

“We’ve been able to deliver products that make people money because we’re quite alone in the market with what we have,” says Mattson.
