Thismonth the Monroeville analytical consulting laboratory was selected asone of several subcontractors to support the largest nuclear wastecleanup project in the country, if not the world: the Hanford nuclearwaste site in the state of Washington. 

RJ Lee will receive aportion of the $3.5 billion contract over 10 years to help manage thecleanup of radiation waste left at the former plutonium manufacturingsite, which was used to build nuclear bombs during World War II and theCold War. For a company on the forefront of sustainable andenvironmental initiatives, nanocharacterization of materials is a bigbusiness.
