The SuperShuttle service, offered nationally by PTG parent company Veolia Transportation, offers van transit at a significant savings over the cost of personal taxi service. The ride-share service debuted in Allegheny County at the end of May with 14 vans and expects to double that number as the market matures.
“Weve doubled our original revenue estimate, and are looking to bring on at least another half-dozen drivers,” says PTG president Jamie Campolongo. With trip growth of ten percent per month, he anticipates hell be adding another Super Shuttle operation, Executive Car (Black Car) to his Pittsburgh fleet by June.
“Were anticipating another 20 to 25 E-Cars and competitive pricing for executives, with reservations all handled through the Super Shuttle reservation system,” he notes. The firm also manages the Yellow Cab fleet, which expects a boost in business as the Rivers Casino opens in downtown Pittsburgh.
