Repower America campaign opens PA offices

Repower America, a public awareness campaign to convert the U.S. to clean energy, is opening two Pennsylvania offices this week in Pittsburgh and West Chester.

The grassroots effort sponsored by the Alliance for Climate Protection seeks to garner support for to convert the U.S. to 100 percent clean electricity, calling for diversified renewable energy sources, a smart energy grid, and clean car technology. The Alliance, chaired by Al Gore, describes itself as a non-partisan non-profit.

Repower American spokesperson Alice McKeon says that the group has already held town hall meetings in several Pennsylvania cities, including Pittsburgh and Doylestown,.

“We’ll continue our outreach efforts, including more town halls events, to bring together experts in clean energy from several different perspectives,” she says.
