InView launches video hiring solutions

Home court advantage is not a myth. Just ask the Boston Red Sox or the Dallas Cowboys. Knowing your surroundings helps you feel more prepared, more in your element, and provides a confidence that you are holding court over your very own kingdom. And it’s not just professional athletes who can reap the benefits.

Known for their computer testing and educational simulations, Exton-based tech firm Education Management Solutions has launched a new division called InView. EMS has created an open, online video platform that recruiters and hiring managers can use to interview candidates without the time or expense devoted to a traditional interview. But for PA jobseekers, it provides that home court advantage, allowing candidates to interview from the comfort of their own homes, avoiding the harsh fluorescent of the corporate conference room.

“One of the things that will speed up the process of recruiting and management is reducing the time it takes an employer to see a candidate’s application to the time they can be brought in,” says EMS President Anurag Singh. “What we are trying to do is speed up that process by organizing responses to five or six standard questions.”

By allowing candidates to answer questions over webcam, InView reduces travel time and allows interviews to be recorded so that all managers that may need to weigh in on the interview don’t need to be in the same room at the same time. By making all interviews the same and allowing candidates to pre-record responses, EMS also hopes the product will help companies maintain consistency in their evaluation process, reducing some of the stress interviewing can create.

“The ability for the candidate to record responses gives them the luxury of time,” says Singh. “They can prepare appropriately so that they put their best foot forward when they go in front of the client.”
