Anthony Linn has sold real estate and managed rental properties, so he knows a lot about common landlord headaches.
Linn, who recently graduated from Penn State with a management degree, is looking for work in technology and management consulting. And for the last four years he's been developing his idea for Rent Wire, a business that would give private landlords the ability to handle more of their business online.
“It's hard to chase down tenants who aren't paying on time,” Linn says, stating a common frustration among property owners. He also knows that landlords spend a large chunk of their time collecting and documenting rent payments and managing maintenance needs. That's why Rent Wire would make these tasks available online, as is already the case with many large apartment management companies.
With Rent Wire, tenants could pay their rent and file maintenance requests electronically. Property owners could use the system to monitor their buildings. Linn also wants to add a way for landlords to promote the units they have for rent.
Linn, who lives in the Harrisburg area, is getting assistance with his idea from the TechCelerator @ Carlisle business incubator. He's also looking for a partner to work on the technical aspects of the business.
