A Harrisburg company that focuses on making it easier for people to use online applications is looking for a few good techies – and doesn't plan to stop.
Red Privet, which launched in 2009 and currently employs 15 people, designs websites, social media, email marketing campaigns and mobile applications that improve and simplify a customer's experience. For example, it's working with health insurer Highmark to make it easier for customers to manage their accounts online rather than over the phone or on paper. The Camp Hill office of business consultant Deloitte has brought in Red Privet to redesign its internal system for filing workers' compensation claims.
Red Privet's founder, Matt Hummel, says this type of work is growing in importance as more and more people bank and shop on the Internet. “People's expectations around their online experiences are much more sophisticated,” he says.
Hummel's firm now has three openings and he expects to hire more designers and developers in the next year or two. “We are almost constantly recruiting,” Hummel says.
Online applications focused on a user's experience are in demand as more businesses decide to take advantage of them. Meanwhile, few companies in the Harrisburg area are poised to handle this task. Hummel sees his firm's business potentially doubling over the next two years.
