California IT company adds new Pennsylvania location in Harrisburg

on

A California company that designs and builds computer networks, video and telephone systems and similar setups, picked Harrisburg as the next location to expand its footprint.

Vector Resources specializes in information technology at places like schools, hospitals, government offices and small and medium-sized businesses. Along with its recently opened office in downtown Harrisburg, it also maintains offices in Philadelphia and Thompsontown, which is between Harrisburg and State College.

Curtis Paradzick, Vector's VP of sales, says improvements taking place in Harrisburg, along with its location near Washington, D.C., helped make it an attractive place to move. Another advantage is Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, which he says is a promising source of future entry-level employees.

Vector's new office will focus on providing technology for government agencies, medical centers, and classrooms and school administrators. Paradzick says the company already serves major hospitals and school districts in California, along with the federal government, and hopes to add to those lines of business on the East Coast.

Its Harrisburg office has three employees now, but Paradzick sees it growing at a similar rate as Vector's 54-worker San Diego office, which opened five years ago. In about six weeks it also plans to open a new room to demonstrate tools for tasks like surveillance, video conferencing and data center management.
