In September, hundreds of urban innovators from around the country convened in Detroit to exchange ideas and lessons on how to build better cities — one small project at a time. There were no silver bullet solutions, just plenty of small ideas that have the potential to add up to big change.
Over the course of three days, participants dug into three subject areas: the art of place, the future of food and the maker movement. They heard from people working on projects in cities around the country and toured Detroit to see some local ideas at work. When the event was over, participants were filled with new energy and inspiration that they could take home with them.
