CEO Tim Bradley has seen the epiphany so often the last couple of years, he now refers to it as the “AirClic moment.” It’s when a company using a single mobile application from the Trevose-based outfit realizes he can automate many different functions that will improve customer service and experience.
“Delta Airlines started with us tracking their freight. Now we’re working on applications for their baggage claim and cabin cleaning,” says Bradley.
Multiple AirClic moments, with major players like Delta, Disney, Ryder, UPS, and US Steel, have garnered consistent, historic gains and a world of accolades for the company. AirClic, which was awarded a patent for its mobile process automation software method last year, earned Top Technology Company overall for the second year in a row from Deloitte & Touche to go along with a slew of other industry awards.
AirClic focuses on five key industries–airline/baggage and cargo, transportation/logistics, heavy equipment rental, field service, and healthcare/medical specimen tracking. The company’s technology allows companies in those industries to gather critical information about workers, assets, inventory, activities, GPS location, and time.
Bradley cited an application called Snapshot developed for Waste Management, the market leader among trash haulers. Drivers are equipped with cameras, which are used to take pictures at each stop to verify service, giving the company real-time access to information for customer service calls. That led to the You Make the Call application, which allows drivers who see a competitor or new business opportunity along their route to record a voice message that is married to a zip code (thanks to GPS) and sent to the appropriate company sales representative. If new business is won, the driver gets a cut.
“As hard of a time as it is in this economic environment, [companies] are still very much looking for ways to improve operations, reduce costs, or provide a better service or experience for their client,” says Bradley, who plans to bring on additional employees as the company’s record growth is expected to continue in 2009.
