Dormont’s Industry Weapon launches liquid tags, expanding and hiring

on

If you put a sign (digital, of course) above Industry Weapon’s office in Dormont, it would undoubtedly signal success with the news of the firm’s growth and pending expansion.

In just two years, the Industry Weapon has grown to 20, with clients in eight countries and an impressive list of Fortune 500 customers. And there’s no slowing in sight, says President and CEO Dave Wible, who expects the company to reach 30 or 40 people in the next year.

Of course this means a move from their great space in Dormont where employees are working everywhere, including the kitchen. “We are beyond four guys in a shoebox,” he laughs.

Partnering with Cisco and Intel on the hardware side has proved key to IW’s success. So has the focus on customer service and satisfaction, says Wible. The company grew 300 percent last year and is on track for 300-500 percent growth this year.

“It’s not hard to move the needle when you weren’t big to start,” he says. “We don’t try to be everyone to our clients. We support our resellers.”

Industry Weapon is currently moving into 15 verticals, including a product with Express for cutting-edge kiosks in stores and employee catalogues. The next big launch will be a mobile application called “fluid tags” that will leverage QR code technology.

“It’s a new way to communicate using digital media,” says Wible. “You can go into a retailer, scan a product and receive product information that’s simple but useful. It’s not going to be completely consumer focused, just a more immersive experience. “
