Allentown firm’s Socialtivity gives marketers social media liquidity

on

Liquid Interactive has long mastered the art of managing digital content for its clients, which range from Mack Trucks to Aria Health. In the last two years, the Allentown-based interactive marketing agency has focused on providing a platform for managing clients’ social media efforts, and the company’s new product, Socialtivity, seems to have convinced its clients that social media is no longer out of reach.

“There has to be a philosophy and a process behind a company using (social media),” says Doug Mancini, Liquid’s managing director. “Social media isn’t just about Twitter or Facebook or Myspace. It’s a conversation with stakeholders that are valuable to employees, and these conversations are going to be different. Socialtivity is a way to channel those conversations.”

Socialtivity is a media content manager that helps marketers build their online community presence and at the same time helps execute, manage and analyze the process. The platform helps decrease staff time devoted to social networking–often a roadblock to companies taking the Facebook or Twitter plunge–and allows for the creation of groups and subgroups administered with as much control as desired by the owner. The challenge for Liquid will be to ease the concerns of companies’ legal departments, long vexed by social media’s inherent risks, and Liquid plans on combatting that by working closely with clients to determine their social media needs.

“Social media sites are popping up every day, so why not make your social media content reside in one place,” says Justin Odom, director of business development. “You won’t lose the content you spent the last year creating and you can repurpose it.”

Liquid Interactive was formed in 2006 by Mancini and partner Jim Ludlow. The company has grown from three to 18 employees since then. Its signature product, Contentivity,is a robust content management platform used to build most client websites. Meanwhile, Liquid has done a consistent business developing customer software applications for its clients.
