GatesmanMarmion+Dave on the South Side and Ideal Integrations in North Versailles are expanding and hiring.
Named one of the fastest growing companies in the region for the last five years, multi-disciplined marketing firm GatesmanMarmion+Dave made an expansive leap the last few months, doubling in size from 17 to 35 people, says John Gatesman. The sheer volume of accounts is the primary reason. Capitalized billings have risen by two-thirds to $35 million and the firm expects to pull in a record $5 million in revenue this year, up from $4 million in 2010.The firm–or “tribe of renegades” as they call themselves–was founded by industry veterans Gatesman, Bill Drake and Frank Marmion in 2006. Dave Kwasnick joined as creative director in 2009; Drake moved on to Pierce-Cote Advertising in Maine this year.
“We have a very unique culture and are a very competitive group,” Gatesman adds. Gatesman and Kwasnick first met at Ketchum and later worked together at Brunner. Marmion is the unmistakable voice heard on countless local radio and TV spots.
The firm has hired five and is looking for 12 more in all disciplines, including creative public relations, social media, digital and media, says Gatesman.
The Pittsburgh Penguins “Destiny Has a New Home” was a high profile campaign that generated a lot of attention for the firm. Other key clients include UPMC, Shop’n Save, Quaker Steak and Lube and PPG.
The firm is also expanding the size of its office space by double to 7000 square feet this year.
In other hiring news, IT company Ideal Integrations has added six bringing the total team to 35 people. Plans call for continued hiring, specifically technical support and systems engineers.
“We are on pace in 2011 to have our greatest revenue growth in one year since Ideal Integrations was founded eight years ago,” says Natalie Neczypor. “Ideal Integrations is growing in number of customers and projects. This is resulting in our need for more employees to maintain the high level of service our customers know and expect from the team at Ideal Integrations.”
