Solar Manufacturing’s newest purchase order hits close to home

on

Since 2007, Pennsylvania has been a solar state, investing millions turning sunlight into energy. But not all solar companies use heat for renewable power. In fact, one solar company is bringing a little heat to the Pennsylvania manufacturing sector with its newest purchase deal.

Souderton’s Solar Manufacturing announced this week that they have received an order from a Pennsylvania metal rod manufacturer that wishes to remain anonymous. The order brings Solar’s product, a large horizontal vacuum furnace used to remove hydrogen from metallic powder, home to Pennsylvania, strengthening the position for both Solar and their newest client.

“By receiving this order, it strengthens our position in the specialty metals industry,” says President Jim Nagy. “This type of manufacturing is a strong point for us and we like to keep it that way so if we can find other producers who are interested in processing their materials in a vacuum furnace, we will go after that business.”

The furnace will allow the purchasing company to remove all air from the metallic production space to process out all oxygen and hydrogen from the raw metallic powder. The company placing the order is a major high purity metals and alloy producer serving the aerospace, aircraft and medical industries, and even produces materials for energy production. Nagy says an order like this not only helps strengthen their position close to home but keeps the doors open.

As for his company’s name:

“In space, there is a vacuum and we produce a vacuum inside our vacuum furnaces,” says Nagy. “The sun produces heat and heat is our business.”
