Trevose video phone manufacturer gets connected with first purchase order

on
Ever since we were kids, the concept of a videophone always seemed like a futuristic next wave. So it might surprise you to learn that the first videophones were produced in 1963. Since then, the concept of the telephone has expanded to unthought-of dimensions, putting NASA-level computing power in the palm of your hand and allowing video communication over the Internet. But the infatuation with high quality video communication has never gone away, and the low-resolution blur of a Skype connection has not been enough to satisfy an increasingly hi-def world.

Trevose-based telephone manufacturer WorldGate has been producing video phones since 1995, stretching the boundaries of telephone voice and picture quality for 21st-century standards. Their new videophone stretches this boundary even further, with a new design and a long list of features. One company, ACN, has bought into the new product in a big way, announcing a purchase order of 300,000 video phones to be delivered over the next two years. The world’s largest direct seller of telecommunication services, ACN will begin selling the phones to their massive world-wide network later this year.

“With outstanding video quality at an affordable price point, we believe the growth potential for video phones is tremendous,” says ACN Co-Founder Robert Stevanovski. “We look forward to growing our mutual relationships as demand for the video phone increases.”

WorldGate’s newest digital videophone can be connected to a television, a projector or to a computer to increase your visual experience. As the product rollout continues, WorldGate will update the software with new features like 3-way video conferencing for families and even office applications.

“Our new phone completely replaces your existing home telephone, allowing features like video conferencing, video voicemail, connectivity to a TV, projector or computer,” says WorldGate Marketing Director Jennifer Osuna. “Nothing you can do with an online application will be able to function that same way.”

Even the most seasoned tech analyst couldn’t have envisioned our worldwide love affair with the phone growing to its current proportions. But with all the communication options available, we have yet to perfect the videophone. WorldGate hopes to continue that journey as their newest product rollout hits homes across the world this fall.
