Since its founding in 1953, Reading Alloys in Robesonia has been a leader in research, development and manufacture of master alloys for the aerospace industry. But a strategic decision a decade ago to diversify has opened up a vast new market.
H�rmann Flexon, a German door maker, broke ground on a 68,000-square-foot facility in Burgettstown. The plant will open next summer and eventually employ about 65, up from 30. It could grow to 220,000 square feet, accommodating a workforce of 100.
Gatorade bottled in Mountain Top now comes in bottles made at the plant, bringing 35 jobs to Luzerne County. Amcor, the packaging giant, opened its new bottle manufacturing facility at the plant, capable of producing 650 million bottles a year.
South Side-based Invivodata is expanding, adding 28,000 square-feet of space to its office in the Commerce Court building in Station Square. Hiring is underway.
