KE-TV: Allegheny College’s Big-School Sustainability Impact

on

With only 2,100 students, Allegheny College in Meadville is a small school on a rural hill. In the world of sustainability, it's a big-time mover and shaker. Its climate neutrality goal for 2020 has led to three geo-exchange heating and cooling systems, 3 LEED-certified buildings, annual efficiency retrofits and the purchase of 100 percent windpower.

There's also on-campus solar arrays, compost and organic turf management program, campus vegetable gardens and a bike share program. Find out how faculty, staff and students are all bringing things to the sustainability table in this U.S. Department of Energy video.
