Big changes are coming to Keystone Edge. After seven years as the voice of the new economy in Pennsylvania — reaching over a million readers, publishing thousands of stories, profiling hundreds of founders and companies, connecting with vibrant communities from Erie to Scranton, Lititz to Greenville, and keeping you informed on the best breweries, top PA-made products and essential main streets — it’s time to rethink the way we do things.
So, what does that mean? It means that the publication will be taking an extended hiatus to retool and reinvent itself. Our goal is to return in early 2016 with a fresh look, revamped content and more local control over the way the site tells state-centric stories.
We know that the world of publishing and digital media has evolved radically since our launch in 2008. We want Keystone Edge to build on all its success while taking advantage of new technologies and a dynamic editorial vision — more video, more mobile-friendly content, more infographics, more flexibility, more engagement via social media. After a lot of discussion, we realized that we needed some time to make that happen.
We’re incredibly excited about the future. Our editorial and publishing teams will remain intact, and we’re seeking to forge new relationships with innovators, entrepreneurs, advocates and stakeholders across Pennsylvania. If you’d like to get in on the ground floor of the new Keystone Edge as an underwriter, advertiser or editorial partner, drop us a line at keystoneedge@gmail.com.
We’d like to close by offering special thanks to the incredible partners we’ve worked with over the last seven years, including the PA Department of Community and Economic Development, Team PA Foundation, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Harrisburg University and University City Science Center, among many others.
While we’re away, be sure to check in with our Philadelphia-centric sister publication Flying Kite Media.
See you in 2016!
